Kevin Schwall, CFA

Kevin Schwall, CFA

Partner

Kevin Schwall is Managing Partner of Tillman Hartley, where he helps families understand, organize, and steward complex wealth with confidence.

A CFA® Charterholder with a Duke engineering background and prior service as a U.S. Army officer, Kevin has brought analytical rigor, disciplined judgment, and calm clarity to the firm since 2007. Outside the office, he enjoys hiking, skiing, and off-the-beaten-path travel with his wife and two children.

Mike Lambert

Partner

Mike has worked with Tillman Hartley since its 1998 founding as a programmer and network administrator. He is a partner and serves as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer. His work includes developing income and estate tax models, managing accounts, and serving as the primary liaison to custodians. He leads the information systems team and previously managed the firm’s proprietary Wealth Strategies Design System project. In addition, Mike oversees the firm’s hardware and data operations, with over 40 years of experience in IS and financial technology.

Partner

Gary is a Partner at Tillman Hartley. Since joining the firm in 2004, he has advanced its estate planning software and leads customized reporting and financial modeling. He has a strong talent for creating tools that help clients visualize and facilitate decisions around their finances.

 Away from the office, Gary can be found exploring the mountains around Asheville, NC with his wife and son, or wrangling the assortment of animals on their small homestead. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of South Florida, the CFA® designation, and the Series 65 license.

Ben Cannon

Partner

Ben Cannon is a Financial Advisor and Chief Compliance Officer at Tillman Hartley, where he helps families organize, understand, and steward their wealth with clarity and discipline.

Since joining the firm in 2014, Ben has combined a passion for wealth management with a broad academic background in economics, microbiology, and systems engineering. He holds degrees from the University of Georgia and Boston University, and brings a thoughtful, evidence-based perspective to client planning, investment decisions, and building resilient portfolios. Outside the office, Ben enjoys gardening, fermentation, biking, hiking, swimming, and staying active with his wife, children, and dog.

Liz Mott

Client Service Associate

Liz joined Tillman Hartley in 2024 as a Client Service Associate, bringing a strong attention to detail and a client-first mindset from her experience in luxury real estate and at a large wealth management firm.

She earned a marketing degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and holds Series 7 (General Securities) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities State Law) licenses. Outside of work, she enjoys the beach, a good book, and spending quality time with her family and beloved animals.

Michael Tillman, JD

Michael Tillman, JD

Founding Partner, Retired

Michael practiced estate planning and tax law for many years before co-founding Tillman Hartley in 1998 to manage assets in his clients’ trusts, partnerships, and foundations. Michael officially retired in March 2024 but continues to serve as senior counsel to the firm.

Michael has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida.

Michael is a co-founder and past President of the North Central Florida Community Foundation, co-author of Generations - Planning Your Legacy, and holds the Series 65 license (Investment Advisor Representative).

Michael enjoys time with his family, boating, T'ai Chi Chuan, and Hawaiian Swimming®.
